How does a third party processor that hosts an FI website fit into the transaction
flow as part of the redirection?
Transactions would be redirected to the hosted website.
What happens to the transaction if the consumer selects the wrong bank from
the drop-down menu?
The consumer would select the option to "Return to Merchant" after
clicking the "Pay" button and would then be returned to the merchant
checkout page where he or she could select the correct bank and continue with
the purchase.
What happens to the transaction if the consumer has insufficient
funds?
The bank website will display a message to the consumer that he or she has
insufficient funds to make the purchase. At that time the consumer can decide
whether to change the payment method or abandon the transaction and delay the
purchase. If the consumer decides to proceed with the purchase using another
account with sufficient funds, he or she can select that alternative account
from the combination box provided by the bank. The consumer will then review
the payment details and accept the terms and conditions by ticking the checkbox
and then click on "Confirm Payment." He or she is then automatically
be returned to the merchant website.
If the consumer decides to change the payment method or delay the purchase,
he or she will click on "Cancel Payment" to return to the merchant
site.
What happens to the transaction if the FI authentication/login process fails?
Upon attempting to login to his or her bank website, the consumer would receive
an error message from the bank and would then select "Return to Merchant" to
return to the merchant site. The Consumer could also select the "Cancel
Payment" button on his or her bank website.
What happens if the FI website is not functioning?
The Consumer would receive a "Page not found" message and at that
point could click the browser "Back" button to return to the merchant
site.
